I’ve had a busy month. I’ve decided to throw myself into almost every Mother/ Blogger/ Vlogger/ Networking/ Workshop that I can fit into my busy schedule.
First stop was attending my first ‘Mothers Meetings’ in Richmond Park. For the uninitiated, here’s a lil article link from Marie Claire to get you up to speed. For me, these are bang on the kinda gals I’m looking to meet. Mommas doing awesome and interesting stuff their own way. Fitting their pursuits around family time, without losing their sense of style and self. Mothers meeting other Mothers has come a long way from Tupperware parties, china cups of tea, and Victoria sponge (although I am rather partial to a natter and cake).

So, got one kid packed off to school and the other wrapped up and snacked up. Then, we headed off for some ‘Netwalking’ in the park. The day started with MM founder Jenny getting us to clamber up onto a bench and introduce ourselves to the gathered gang.

The event was a nice chilled stroll through the park, meeting other like minded Mommas. We went at our own pace, enabling us to feed/ sooth/ chase/ drag the smalls along. It was refreshing to chat Motherhood with ladies that also found joy in fashion, Instagram and rewarding glasse(s) of fizz at the end of a busy parenting week. Many gals didn’t even have a business to chat about. Some just wanted to meet Mums outside of soft play purgatory, and perhaps, just perhaps engage in conversation not related to children… gasp!
If you want to know who I met skip over to the IG feed to check out their links here.
Next stop was Mother Pukka’s Great British Fake Off with Matt Riley (of Great British Bake Off fame). I was chuffed to get tickets to this intimate gathering in Soho to hear from Anna and Matt about all things vlogging. The event was hosted by Fleur & Mike from Flipside (who represent Anna & Matt as well as a host of 20 something entrepreneurs carving out a You Tube career).

Again, I got to meet with some great like-minded Mommas & Poppas (including Mr Poppa Pukka himself!). And, even though Kids were welcome, I decided to leave them in the very capable hands of Grandma this time ’round. This meant Mommy got to enjoy a glass of fizz, and have some lovely uninterrupted chats with some rather awesome people including;
and last but never least my #instagurus & #insta-ration
Anna & Matt did their job, they taught me the basics, and gee-ed me up to give it a go. So watch out You Tube, I’ve got a camera, microphone and no sense of pride or self preservation. Surviving The Muklet’s is gonna be losing it’s Vlog-ginity….
